The Polynesian bus loop is open with three numbered stops
The Polynesian bus loop opened on 13 July 2026. Because the Polynesian has excellent monorail and ferry transportation directly from the resort, as well at the Transportation and Ticket Center right next door, the resort busses only travel to destinations not covered by those options: Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs and the two water parks.
The bus loop is near the Great Ceremonial House
The outdoor stop sits between the Rarotonga building and the guest car park, a few steps from the Great Ceremonial House. It has covered seating, numbered bays and a digital transport board.
The former guest entrance road now carries Disney buses into the new loop. Guest cars use a separate entrance. For a first visit, look for the covered stop on the car-park side of the Great Ceremonial House rather than walking towards the lagoon.
Depending on exactly where you're staying, this can be a walk of upto 10-15 minutes. We would find the stop during daylight on arrival day so you're familiar with the route before the sunsets - the Polynesian can be quite dark at night as its evening lighting is subtle (but beautiful!).
The three signs tell you where to start
- Stop 1: Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
- Stop 2: Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Blizzard Beach.
- Stop 3: Disney Springs and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.
The stop labels identify the correct first leg. They do not turn both water-park trips into direct buses. Under Disney’s current routing, Blizzard Beach involves a change at Animal Kingdom and Typhoon Lagoon involves a change at Disney Springs.
Hollywood Studios uses stop 1
For Disney’s Hollywood Studios, go to stop 1. Disney’s resort buses to the theme parks begin 45 minutes before park opening and finish one hour after closing.
Those hours tell you when service operates, not when the next vehicle will arrive. An early breakfast or a plan to be at the entrance before official opening needs time for the walk to the shelter, a possible wait and the drive to the park.
We would leave room for another bus rather than aim for the final departure that could work on paper. The cost of being early is a few minutes near the park entrance. The cost of being late may be a rushed meal or a poor start to the morning.
Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach share stop 2
Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Blizzard Beach depart from stop 2. For Animal Kingdom, join that queue and allow the same walk, wait and drive time you would for Hollywood Studios.
Blizzard Beach needs more planning. Disney’s current bus instructions send guests from resorts without direct Blizzard Beach service to Animal Kingdom, followed by a transfer to the water park.
The onward bus from Animal Kingdom begins about 30 minutes before Blizzard Beach opens. Return service from Blizzard Beach to Animal Kingdom ends about 60 minutes after the water park closes.
Check the official water-park calendar before leaving. Don't forget, a water park may close because of weather, capacity, seasonal work or other operational reasons.
Prepare a standard pushchair before the bus reaches the stop. Disney requires ordinary strollers to be folded and kept out of the aisle, while medical strollers are treated as wheelchairs. Bags that can be lifted together will make the change at Animal Kingdom easier.
Disney Springs and Typhoon Lagoon share stop 3
Disney Springs and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon start at stop 3. Buses between Disney Resort hotels and Disney Springs run during Disney Springs operating hours and finish one hour after closing.
Use stop 3 for a Disney Springs meal, shopping visit or evening away from the parks. A reservation still needs a sensible travel allowance, particularly when the group is coming from accommodation farther from the bus loop.
Typhoon Lagoon adds a second bus. Disney directs guests from most resort hotels to the Disney Springs area, where they transfer to the water-park service.
The onward Typhoon Lagoon bus begins about 30 minutes before the water park opens. Return service to Disney Springs ends about 60 minutes after Typhoon Lagoon closes.
Treat the transfer as a separate part of the plan. A ten-minute wait for the first bus does not predict the wait for the second, and swim bags or a folded pushchair make a fast change less appealing.
Magic Kingdom starts with the monorail or water taxi
The Resort Monorail serves the Polynesian, the Transportation and Ticket Center, Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Resort and Express Monorail service begins 30 minutes before Magic Kingdom opens and ends one hour after closing.
For a normal Magic Kingdom morning, start at the Polynesian monorail platform. If the monorail is unavailable, use the either the resort launches (the small boats), or walk over to the TTC and take one of the large ferries. Disney says most water routes operate every 15 to 30 minutes, with service subject to weather and water conditions. If you're this unlucky, Disney will often temporarily add busses to the Magic Kingdom.
We would favour the monorail when the arrival time is fixed. Choose the boat when the weather is settled, the queue is manageable and the crossing is part of the appeal.
EPCOT needs a monorail change at the TTC
You can take a Resort Monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center, commonly shortened to TTC. However, its just a few minutes walk from the Great Ceremonial House.
The EPCOT Monorail begins 30 minutes before EPCOT opens and stops two hours after the park closes. The Resort Monorail follows Magic Kingdom hours, so an early or late trip depends on two operating windows rather than one.
Check the live sign before joining a queue
The My Disney Experience app can show transport routes and stop locations. Disney also tells guests to check resort signs for the latest pick-up points and operating details.
Use the app to learn the route before the day. At the resort, use the sign and Cast Member advice to confirm what is running. If the instructions have changed, update the plan rather than trying to force the saved route to work.
If you want to keep each transfer with the rest of the day, our guide to adding transport to a PlanTheMagic trip explains how to add it to the plan.
Before the first morning, write down one instruction for each destination: bus stop 1, 2 or 3, the Resort Monorail, a water taxi, or the Resort Monorail with a TTC change. Then check the live sign when you arrive.
