If The Mara is your breakfast stop at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, plan to order on your phone this week. Disney says the restaurant is using mobile ordering only from September 21 through 25, 2026 while its food court and dining room close for maintenance.
You can still order food through the My Disney Experience app. The part to rethink is where you'll eat it. Disney's notice for The Mara also says you may see or hear maintenance during the day.
Check your order before you head over
In My Disney Experience, tap the plus sign and choose “Order Food.” Select The Mara and an available arrival time, then choose your food and pay.
Once you're at the pickup location during your arrival window, use the app's arrival button to let the kitchen know you're there. Wait for the ready notification, then follow the mobile-order pickup signs. Disney's mobile-order guide walks you through the process.

Want to sit down for breakfast or dinner?
A closed dining room changes the plan if you were hoping to settle in at a table. Boma - Flavors of Africa, also at Animal Kingdom Lodge, offers buffet breakfast and dinner. We'd consider it if your group would enjoy making a buffet part of the day. Check prices and reservation availability before making the swap, since Disney highly recommends advance reservations.
Disney lists The Mara's temporary change through September 25. For a visit after that, check the restaurant's current notice before building your day around the dining room being open.
