2026 Disney World Holiday Party Tickets: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or Jollywood Nights?

Walt Disney World has two separately ticketed holiday parties for the 2026 season. Here is how to choose between Magic Kingdom’s traditional Christmas celebration and Hollywood Studios’ glitzier late-night event.

Mickey’s Very Merry is the better first-time choice

Most visitors choosing one Walt Disney World Christmas party in 2026 should start with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

It has the parade, castle fireworks, stage shows, festive attraction overlays, characters and Main Street “snow” that many families expect from a Disney Christmas. It is the safer recommendation for a first holiday visit, particularly with younger children.

Disney Jollywood Nights is the better choice for repeat visitors, adults, older children and guests whose priorities are live shows, uncommon characters and photos. It also runs later in the season, including two nights in January 2027.

Jollywood has the lower published price range. Mickey’s Very Merry provides an extra hour of early park entry and a fuller programme of traditional Christmas entertainment.

Both parties last five hours. You will need to choose between shows, characters, attractions and food rather than expect to complete everything.

Jollywood is available after Mickey’s Very Merry has finished. Guests visiting over Christmas week or in early January may therefore find that Jollywood is their only holiday-party option.

Early purchasing opened on 9 July for guests staying at Disney Resorts Collection hotels, the Walt Disney World Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green. The early window applies to event nights during the qualifying hotel stay. General sales open on 16 July.

Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 per Jollywood ticket on every event night. The $10 Mickey’s Very Merry discount is available on selected party nights from 8 to 20 November and 29 November to 3 December.

What Mickey’s Very Merry includes

Mickey’s Very Merry centres its evening on the large Magic Kingdom Christmas productions:

  • Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade
  • Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks
  • Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration
  • Frozen Holiday Surprise
  • Santa’s Christmas Carnival
  • holiday character greetings
  • “snowfall” on Main Street, U.S.A.

Selected attractions receive festive changes. Confirmed examples include Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Speedway, Mad Tea Party, Jingle Cruise and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor.

Selected cookies and hot or cold festive drinks are included at designated locations. The cookies are snacks. They are not dinner, so eat before the official party hours if you can.

The parade and fireworks give the night a clear structure, but character queues and attraction waits can consume a large share of the five hours. Choose two main priorities before you arrive. For example, you might put the parade and fireworks first, then use the remaining time for ride overlays.

Families with younger children should check likely parade and fireworks times once Disney releases the final schedule. Early entry helps you eat and complete a few attractions before 7:00 PM, but it does not move the main entertainment earlier.

What Jollywood Nights includes

Jollywood spreads its entertainment around Hollywood Studios. The confirmed programme includes:

  • Disney Holidays in Hollywood, hosted by Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy
  • What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along
  • Glisten!, the holiday skating show
  • Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!
  • Echo Lake Holiday Celebration
  • Pixar Disco
  • Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club

Disney is advertising more than 20 character experiences. Returning characters include Chewbacca, The Mandalorian and Grogu, Phineas and Ferb, Bing Bong, Duffy, Max Goof as Powerline, Stitch dressed as Santa, Scrooge McDuck, Edna Mode and Frozone.

Those appearances make Jollywood a strong choice for guests who enjoy character photos and are prepared to spend part of the evening in queues. Event PhotoPass downloads are included with the ticket, removing the need to buy a separate photo package for images taken during the party.

Food, cocktails and other drinks cost extra. Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby returns with live music, cocktails and light bites. Reservations are strongly recommended. Book it if the meal and music are a priority, because time inside the restaurant is time away from the party’s shows and characters.

Jollywood welcomes families, but its 7:30 PM start and 12:30 AM finish suit older children and adults more easily. The shows, live music, photos and unusual characters are stronger reasons to attend than trying to complete a long attraction list.

Jollywood costs less, but the inclusions are different

For two adults, the published ticket ranges come to:

  • Mickey’s Very Merry: $378 to $458 USD plus tax
  • Jollywood Nights: $338 to $398 USD plus tax

For two adults and two children aged 3 to 9:

  • Mickey’s Very Merry: $736 to $896 USD plus tax
  • Jollywood Nights: $656 to $776 USD plus tax

Based on those ranges, Jollywood costs an example family of four $80 to $120 less before tax.

Mickey’s Very Merry includes selected treats and drinks. Jollywood includes event PhotoPass downloads. Compare those inclusions using what your group would otherwise buy. PhotoPass may save more for a group planning several character photos. The Mickey’s Very Merry treats may matter more to a family that would buy festive snacks anyway.

Allow extra money for dinner, specialty food, drinks and merchandise at either event. You may also decide to use a lighter park day before the party, which changes the cost calculation if you have already bought multi-day tickets.

Can a party ticket replace a normal park day?

A Mickey’s Very Merry ticket allows entry to Magic Kingdom from 4:00 PM. You can spend up to eight hours in the park without buying a separate ticket for that day.

That can work for repeat visitors who are happy to skip several regular attractions. We would not use it as a family’s only Magic Kingdom visit on a first Walt Disney World holiday. The seasonal entertainment leaves too little time for a relaxed tour of the park.

A Jollywood ticket allows entry to Hollywood Studios from 5:30 PM, giving you up to seven hours inside the park. It can replace a normal park day if the party shows and characters are your main reasons for visiting.

It is a poor replacement if your group also wants a full visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land and the park’s regular attractions. You will be choosing between daytime priorities and the entertainment covered by the event ticket.

Early entry is regular park time. Party shows, characters and other event features do not begin as soon as you pass through the gate.

Plan a lighter day before the party

A full park morning followed by a party until midnight can work for some adults. It is a demanding plan for most families.

A calmer party day could include:

  • breakfast at the hotel
  • time at the pool or Disney Springs
  • a late lunch or early dinner
  • entry as soon as the event ticket allows
  • one or two regular attractions before the party starts
  • a late breakfast or resort morning the next day

Use the early-entry period for food, ordinary park photos and regular attractions. Once the party begins, spend the ticketed hours on entertainment that is unavailable during the day.

Avoid booking a long Table-Service dinner during the official five-hour event unless the meal is one of your main reasons for attending. PlanTheMagic’s Disney ADR Booking Window Calculator can help with a meal before the party.

Remember that midnight and 12:30 AM are event closing times. You will still need to leave the park, wait for transport and travel back to your hotel. Give the following morning a later start where your itinerary allows.

For a first Christmas visit, we would choose Mickey’s Very Merry unless someone in the group has a specific Jollywood priority. For repeat visitors who have already seen Magic Kingdom at Christmas, Jollywood offers a different evening with a strong entertainment and character line-up.

Children’s ages matter less than their normal bedtime. A five-year-old who enjoys late nights may cope better than an older child who is exhausted by 9:00 PM. Plan for the people travelling with you rather than the schedule you hope they will tolerate.

Buying tickets to both parties suits longer trips

The events contain enough different entertainment to attend both without repeating the same night. The cost and two late finishes need space in the wider holiday.

For two adults and two children aged 3 to 9, tickets to both parties would cost about $1,392 to $1,672 USD plus tax, based on the published ranges. Food, drinks and merchandise would be extra.

Buying both can make sense on a longer trip where Christmas entertainment is a main reason for travelling. Leave a lighter day between the parties where the dates allow.

On a short first visit, one party is usually enough. Use the other evening and the remaining budget for a park or experience that would otherwise be missed.

Choose a first date and a backup before 16 July

Before general sales open, agree on:

  1. which party suits the group
  2. your preferred event date
  3. at least one backup date
  4. the date-specific ticket price
  5. your dinner plan
  6. the three party experiences you care about most
  7. what you will do before the party and the following morning

For most first-time Christmas visitors, our recommendation is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Repeat visitors should compare Jollywood’s shows and characters with the Magic Kingdom Christmas entertainment they have already experienced.

Once you choose a date, add the entry time, dinner, transport and following morning to the same trip day. You can build the party into a PlanTheMagic trip so those details stay with the rest of your plans.
